How I Stay Stress Free (For The Most Part)
Stress can pile up like snow. It falls slowly, but then after a little while, you find yourself with a shovel, digging your way out. The trick is to not let it pile up, whether that means taking part in some healthy stress relievers, attacking tasks as soon as they come up, or reflecting on your problems. I feel like I rarely worry and feel pretty relaxed most the time because of the habits I've made.
Working out is one of my biggest stress relievers and for good reason. It releases endorphins in your brain for up to 24 hours. You get benefits in both your mind and your body. Working out gives me what feels like a glow. I feel more confident, energized, and optimistic after a good hour of exercise. It’s a fantastic distraction from everything going on in my everyday life.
Another way I prevent myself from being too stressed out is by knocking out things as soon as I can. Getting rid of procrastination makes me feel like I have more time. Instead of waiting and worrying about getting a task done, I go ahead and get it out of the way. After I finish, I feel accomplished and stress-free.
Sometimes it’s possible to feel stressed and not know exactly why. This is why it’s important to reflect on all your problems. This could mean talking to someone you trust and going into some detail about what is stressing you out and why. Or it could mean writing without stopping for 5 minutes straight to see what comes to mind. Once you figure out what’s stressing you out, then you can start coming up with a solution to your problem.
Stress is a part of life, and new problems are going to pop up all the time. Work, relationships, self-esteem, and money are all stressful things to deal with, and it’s important to make sure you're not going to feel too overwhelmed with life. At the end of the day, pretty much all problems are solvable.
